The Academy has spoken out after 2026 Best Supporting Actress nominee Teyana Taylor alleged that a "very rude" security guard shoved her inside the Dolby Theatre after Sunday's live Oscars show.

In a statement obtained Monday afternoon by* *, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences addresses the incident, indicating that the group's members were "extremely upset" to learn of Taylor's claim — in a now-viral social media video — that a guard put his hands on her in the closing moments of the ceremony.

"We have worked with Teyana over the last several months during awards season, and she has been nothing short of remarkable, supportive, kind, and all about community," the Academy's statement reads. "Though the incident was with our outside security firm SIS, the experience of every single guest is our responsibility. We have made it clear to them that this behavior is not acceptable."

Earlier Monday, Security Industry Specialists, Inc. provided a statement to EW addressing the conflict.

"There was a brief interaction involving Ms. Taylor and a member of our security team during the show last evening," the statement said. "Our security personnel were working to manage a crowded area and ensure the safety of all guests."**

In footage shared online following Sunday's Oscars, 35-year-old Taylor can be heard scolding an off-camera person, raising her voice as she says, "You're a man putting your hands on a female. You're very rude. Very rude." A person accompanying Taylor adds, "That was uncalled for."

Taylor spoke about the ordeal after the Oscars, telling TMZ that "it's all good" after the moment.

"Everybody’s having a good time and you know, security was just doing a lot," she added, explaining, "I’m proud, I’m happy. There’s nothing to wonder. The first thing people do is definitely make assumptions, but at the end of the day, I just don’t tolerate disrespect — especially when it’s unwarranted and unprovoked."

She was later seen excitedly running up on stage with her *One Battle After Another* director Paul Thomas Anderson, where she playfully put him in a headlock while collecting their prize.

After the ceremony, Taylor addressed the headlock in a red carpet interview, telling *Variety*. "It's that little inside joke. He already knew the headlock was coming!"
