Charlize and Taron Egerton reveal how they unwound while filming their new thriller Apex
The two sat "side by side" in separate baths to recover in between takes

Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton grew closer than they expected while filming the thriller Apex.
Now streaming on Netflix, the film follows Theron's Sasha, who undertakes a solo kayaking trip in the Australian wilderness after a devastating loss. In the remote landscape she meets a seemingly friendly local, Ben (Egerton), who soon turns violent and makes her his prey.
When they weren't performing many of their own stunts on the grueling New South Wales shoot, Theron, 50, and Egerton, 36, found an unusual way to relax.

"Our one little bit of luxury that we had was we each had a bath," Egerton recalls in a joint interview with his costar. "Do you remember that? We had a little bath each."
"A little hot tub," Theron confirms.

"Because we spent so much time in water that, particularly if you're not shooting when the sun's high in the sky, you get cold, and you get sick, so we had to sit in a hot bath," adds Egerton. "We'd sit side by side."
"That was cute," says Theron.
"And Charlize would kind of feed me ... It's not jerky... biltong. Traditional South African biltong," says Egerton. "And we would sit and gnaw on biltong to try and keep in our sinewy climbers' physiques."

Adds Theron, "We were forced to sit next to each other in hot water. We couldn't be like, 'Can you move my tub a little bit over there?' But it was lovely. And then we would go back, and he'd tie me to him, and then he'd drag me through some dirt, and it was just another day at the job."
"Just another day at the office," laughs Egerton.
