Jacob Elordi, Teyana Taylor invited to join Oscar voters

Jacob Elordi, Julia Garner, Simu Liu, Jenna Ortega and Teyana Taylor are among the boldface names invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Academy members are eligible to vote on the Oscars and participate in the organization's events, committees and initiatives.

"We are delighted to invite this remarkable group of film artists and professionals from around the world to join the Academy," Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Lynette Howell Taylor said in a statement June 24. "Through their commitment to filmmaking, this year's exceptionally talented class has made significant contributions to our global movie industry."

Elordi and Taylor were Oscar nominees earlier this year for "Frankenstein" and "One Battle After Another," respectively.

The Academy has spent the past decade expanding its membership, adding more women, international filmmakers and diverse voices.

With the addition of the 529 invitees for the 2026 class, the Academy's membership would be 36% women, 25% from underrepresented communities and 22% international, according to IndieWire.

Beyond actors, this year's invitees include casting directors, cinematographers, costume designers, makeup artists, hairstylists and other film industry professionals.
