Lamar Odom’s struggles with addictions are no secret, but the NBA champion and those closest to him are coming clean in Netflix’s *Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom*.
The trailer, which dropped on March 3, opens with the infamous 2015 incident when the basketball star was found unconscious at Love Ranch, a brothel in Crystal, Nevada. “I had 12 strokes and six heart attacks,” Odom reveals. “That’s not no average s---.”

Although he was estranged from wife Khloé Kardashian at the time, the reality star rushed to his hospital bedside, keeping vigil as Odom was comatose on life support. A decade later, she now admits there was a lot going on behind the scenes during their four-year marriage, which culminated in Odom’s 2013 arrest for DUI.
“He would escape rehab and go on a drug bender and no one could find him,” Kardashian recalls in *The Death & Life of Lamar Odom*. “I just felt such a responsibility to cover this up and protect him.”

Following Odom's recovery, Kardashian filed for divorce and the two were declared legally single in December 2016. By then, she had moved on to another NBA player, Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers. When Kardashian announced she was pregnant with her first child in 2018, Odom publicly congratulated his ex. "I wish her well," he said on Complex's *Everyday Struggle*. "Still got love for her."
Odom and Kardashian first met in 2009 at a party thrown by his then Los Angeles Lakers teammate Ron Artest (now known as Metta Sandiford-Artest), who also appears in the documentary. “Lamar was living a rock star lifestyle,” recalls the NBA all-star as clips show the juxtaposition of Odom partying and playing basketball.

In the Netflix documentary, Odom also candidly details the beginning of his battle with addiction. “That first hit of cocaine was amazing,” he admits. “But you unlock a vault that you can’t really control… I was out all night partying. I didn’t want to stop.”
