A new courtroom sketch of Nick Reiner has been released amid his ongoing case for the alleged murders of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.

In the artist's rendering from the Wednesday, April 29, hearing, Nick, 32, appeared stoic as he sat in the courtroom. He wore a yellow prison smock and blue pants, his head was shaved and he had a scruffy goatee. During the proceedings he was handcuffed at the wrists.

Nick appeared in court for the latest hearing in his parents’ murder case. Nick, who has been accused of killing Rob and Michele, has pleaded not guilty to all charges and waived his right to the 30-day preliminary period.

None of Nick’s surviving family members were present for the hearing.

Nick’s next court date is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, where he will be formally charged by prosecutors.

Rob and Michele were found dead from apparent stab wounds in their Los Angeles home in December 2025. The couple were 78 and 70, respectively. In addition to Nick, the pair shared son Jake and daughter Romy. (Rob was also the adoptive father of ex-wife Penny Marshall’s daughter, Tracy.)

Nick was subsequently arrested in connection to his parents’ untimely deaths. Prior to the alleged killing, Nick, who has had a public struggle with substance abuse, reportedly got into an argument with his father at Conan O’Brien’s holiday party.

In February, Nick pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances.

Earlier this month, Jake opened up about how he learned about what happened to his mom and dad.

ā€œOn the afternoon of December 14, I was in Union Station at a celebration of life for one of my best friends, Christian Anderson, who died in October,ā€ Jake wrote in a Substack essay published Friday, April 24. ā€œIt was at that moment I received a call from my sister Romy telling me our father was dead. Minutes later, she called back telling me our mother was also dead.ā€

Jake explained that the ride to see his sister was ā€œunendurableā€ as he grasped that his parents were no longer with him.

ā€œMy world, as I knew it, had collapsed. I was in a trance,ā€ he continued. ā€œThe only thing I could focus on was that I needed to get to my childhood home. I needed to get to my sister. I needed to figure out what the hell just happened.ā€

Jake also reflected on how he has to cope with his parents not being around for his future milestones.

ā€œI was robbed of so many things that day,ā€ Jake penned. ā€œMy parents won’t be at my wedding, they won’t get to hold their future grandchild, and they won’t get to see me have the successful career I’m still seeking. It simultaneously breaks my heart and enrages me.ā€
