After spending years in California, trying to build a life of their own, away from the royals, it seems Prince Harry is now willing to return to his roots. After reportedly rekindling his strained relationship with King Charles III, the prince is now planning to make “more and more” U.K. visits.
However, as he continues his desperate attempt to rebuild his strained relationships with his family, an insider says the prince is clashing with his wife. Meghan Markle isn’t willing to travel back and forth between the U.K. and the U.S. unlike her husband. This has reportedly caused tension in their marriage.
Prince Harry Wants to Come ‘Back and Forth a Lot More’ to the U.K.
According to Roya Nikkah, royal editor of The Sunday Times, Prince Harry is reportedly planning to return to Britain next month for a week-long trip. He is expected to return for engagements with the charity WellChild and the Invictus Games. But his U.K. visits won’t end there.
A source told Nikkah that the prince wants to increase the frequency of his visits by becoming more actively involved in various U.K.-based charities.
“The template for his visits has been working well, so the frequency of trips will increase, especially in the run-up to Invictus–which he’s determined to make the best games yet,” the report suggests.
The outlet reported, “So he’ll be coming back and forth a lot more, every few months. He wants more and more of a foothold here, more trips back, less courtroom drama. And he always loves seeing his family.”
Nikkah revealed how a source confided in the publication that the 40-year-old felt “buoyed, very happy and really energized” after last month’s trip to the U.K.
The prince traveled to his birthplace with his California-based family, where he reportedly reconciled with his father. King Charles III also reunited with his grandchildren.

However, despite Prince Harry’s strong desire to return to the U.K. more often, his wife, Meghan Markle, is reportedly unwilling to do so.
According to a source close to the couple, who spoke to Closure, “Harry dreams of a compromise where he can come back to the UK more often, potentially as a part-time working royal again.”
They added, “He’d love Meghan to join him – but there’s no way she’d move back, even part-time. She feels there’s too much open hostility towards her. They’re figuring out an agreement where Meghan accompanies him when it suits her.”
“She’s very independent, so she’s leaving it up to Harry to navigate it, but the feeling is it’s very much a make-or-break situation,” the source shared an ominous warning about the Sussexes’ marriage, over the prince’s desire to visit the U.K. more often.
The warning comes after Markle made a solo appearance in LA, and eagle-eyed fans spotted that the Duchess wasn’t wearing her engagement ring. The source added, “Meghan’s too media savvy to accidentally step out without her ring.”
