After recently visiting the U.K. with his family and reconciling with King Charles III at Highgrove, Prince Harry seems to have become nostalgic for his birthplace.

The Sun reports that the prince, along with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children, is reportedly planning to relocate from the U.S. later this month and settle outside London.

The couple reportedly plan to live together in a non-royal residence, while staying closer to the royal family, despite previously criticising them in their tell-all interview.

Prince Harry’s Kids Will Start School in Britain in September

After tying the knot in 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child, Archie, in London, on May 6, 2019. However, following the birth of their son, the couple began experiencing tensions with the royal family and decided to move to the U.S. in 2020.

After stepping back from royal duties, the couple moved to California in March 2020, where they welcomed their daughter, Lilibet, on June 4, 2021. Since then, the Sussexes largely distanced themselves from the royal family and later gave their tell-all interview and released the prince’s memoir, Spare.

However, after years of living in the U.S. and reportedly struggling with their finances, the couple recently revisited the U.K. in July 2026. Following their reconciliation with King Charles and Queen Camilla, the prince seemingly decided to move to the U.K.

According to The Sun, the Sussexes will return to Britain at the end of August for “an extended period”, and their kids will enroll at a British school in September.

They have already found a house in the U.K. where they plan to live while continuing their business ventures, instead of working as royals.

King Charles III Was Informed of the Move on Sunday

Meanwhile, according to The Telegraph, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not discuss their plans to return when they met the monarch at Highgrove in July.

Instead, King Charles III was informed of the move on Sunday, and he reportedly appeared pleased at the prospect of seeing the Sussexes regularly.

However, the King has clarified that, despite the couple’s decision to move to the U.K., their status as non-working royals will remain unchanged.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have also been informed of this move, although they refrained from meeting the Sussexes during their U.K. visit in July.

Sources have revealed that while the U.K. would be the Sussexes’ primary home for an extended period, they will still retain their houses in Montecito, California, and Portugal.
