- The *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* trailer will be released in pieces scattered across the internet ahead of a formal release.
- Tom Holland started a link chain of fan accounts on Instagram that each will share a snippet for the trailer.
- "This is all about community, this is all about being together," Holland said. "So let's go."
The highly anticipated *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* trailer is coming this week, just not in the way you're expecting.
"We are doing something that has never been done before," Tom Holland said in a video released on Tuesday before announcing that "some of our greatest fans are going to help us release pieces of our new trailer."
Holland's Instagram post linked over to the account of Cliver Huaman Sanchez in Peru, who shared a slow-motion snippet of a costumed Spidey saving someone mid-swing. That fan then passed it over to cosplayer @OSUSpidey in Ohio, who shared a clip of Holland's Peter Parker collapsing.
The trend continued with The Amazing Alex Arellano sharing a bit of Spider-Man running across a rooftop.
"This is all about community, this is all about being together. So let's go," Holland said in his video, announcing he'll then be in New York City on Wednesday morning for the presumed trailer launch.

Official details on *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* have been sparse, but an official Marvel art book about the movie revealed the following plot synopsis.
"Four years have gone by since we last caught up with our friendly neighborhood hero," it read. "Peter Parker is no more, but Spider-Man is at the top of his game keeping New York City safe. Things are going well for our anonymous hero until an unusual trail of crimes pulls him into a web of mystery larger than he’s ever faced before. In order to take on what’s ahead, Spider-Man not only needs to be at the top of his physical and mental game, but he must also be prepared to face the repercussions of his past!"

The film is the follow-up to 2021's *Spider-Man: No Way Home*, which ended with the entire world forgetting the identity of Peter Parker, including those closest to him. Spidey regulars like Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are back for this next Marvel outing, as well as Sadie Sink (*Stranger Things*) in a mystery role that has caused rampant speculation online.
In an interview with **, Sink said people were theorizing she'd play telekinetic and telepathic X-Men character Jean Grey "before I even knew that I would be working on this project." She later quipped, "A lot of people forget that hair color can change, but, yeah, I understand all of the theories."

Jon Bernthal will also play a part as the returning Frank Castle/Punisher. Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum teased a connection between *Daredevil: Born Again* season 2 and *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*. "We are communicating a lot with the team on *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* to make sure that there's coherence there," he previously told EW. "We don't want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world and it is important."
*Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, directed by *Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings* helmer Destin Daniel Cretton, will release in theaters on July 31.
