Taylor Swift is back in New York City and looking more like herself than ever. Last night, she was spotted out with her dad, Scott, and friend Ashley Avignone in the West Village while in a preppy look that nodded to her early days—very “Miss Americana,” very 1989-meets-Lover—and offered a colorful Easter egg ahead of her upcoming wedding.

The look in question involved a midi dress with a big cult following: Staud’s Wells Paneled Striped Cotton Poplin Midi Dress. The white midi features sky-blue stripes, and its silhouette includes a straight neckline, a subtly corseted bodice, and a poplin skirt. It retails for $325 and comes in several other colors and patterns.

Staud was founded by Sarah Staudinger and George Augusto in 2015, and since then, the brand has become wildly popular on social media and amongst It girls who crave its easy, accessible luxury and California-cool aesthetic. Evidently, Swift is one of them.

The superstar paired her summery dress with Christian Louboutin Roma sandals in a deep red, and a mini Lady Dior bag in a bright lemon yellow. A messy low ponytail, gold hoop earrings, and her black cat eye and bright red lip rounded out Swift’s look.

The ensemble nodded to the primary-colors trend that has been taking over the runways, but it was also quite patriotic—red, white, and blue—which leads me to believe Swift was just giving us an all-knowing wink in the lead-up to her Fourth of July weekend wedding.

The “Opalite” singer is set to marry Travis Kelce in New York City over the holiday, which has long been her favorite time of the year. And while most brides lean into wedding whites ahead of their nuptials, it’s very Taylor Swift to lean into Americana style instead. She is, after all, marrying the boy on the football team.
