Rep. Thomas Massie's confrontation with a Fox News Digital reporter took a bizarre turn after the Kentucky Republican flipped the script during an on-the-street exchange over allegations made by a woman claiming to be his former girlfriend.

The heated encounter unfolded in Washington, D.C., when reporter Nicholas A. Ballasy approached Massie and questioned him about recent claims made by Cynthia West, a former Massie staffer who says she previously dated the congressman.

West recently alleged that Massie pressured her into signing a non-disclosure agreement following what she described as wrongful termination. She also claimed the lawmaker boasted about a romantic encounter with Rep. Lauren Boebert shortly after his late wife died.

Ballasy opened the exchange by asking Massie if he could "clear up the stuff your ex is saying about you with the NDA — that you pressured her to sign an NDA for wrongful termination."

"Is that true, what she's saying about you?" he asked.

Massie fired back with a question of his own: "Who are you with?" he asked.

"Fox Digital," Ballasy replied.

"It's all false," the congressman said.

As the confrontation continued, the reporter shifted to the second allegation, asking, "And what she said about you and Boebert having an intimate relationship?"

"It's all false," Massie said again.

Ballasy followed up by asking if the accusations were connected to Massie's recent primary defeat to Ed Gallrein.

"When did you all become a tabloid? Seriously, dude," Massie responded.

Flipping it back on the reporter

Moments later, Massie turned his phone camera toward Ballasy and responded with an accusation of his own.

"So let me ask you, I heard that you like gay p***," Massie said. "Is that true?"

"I just want to give you a chance to give your side," Ballasy replied.

"I'm giving you a chance to give me your side," Massie shot back.

After Ballasy refused to engage, Massie pressed further, asking, "Are you a real news organization or not?"

As the reporter walked away, Massie continued after him, shouting, "Come back, man!"

The confrontation follows another tense exchange earlier this month involving Ballasy and Boebert, who responded to questioning by telling the reporter. "F*** you, first of all," before adding, "There's your clickbait that you were looking for."
