According to Deadline, the new series, which is being developed at Hulu, is set to follow three suburban couples who are neighbors as they navigate the trail of secrets that are unveiled when one of their husbands is murdered.

Dobrev plays Gwen, and Wesley plays Scott, two neighbors on opposite sides of the murder investigation, according to Deadline.

The show, which is set to be written by Brian Tanen, is a collaborative project between Alex Cooper's Unwell and Kapital Entertainment.

Dobrev confirmed her attachment to the series, both in front of and behind the camera, by sharing a screenshot of Deadline's article on Instagram.

"I've been waiting to share this one. ❤️," said Dobrev in the caption. "@paulwesley and I are reuniting to executive produce and star in 'You Deserve to Know'. Getting to help shape this adaptation from both sides of the camera has been incredibly exciting. So grateful to our partners at @hulu, @unwell, @alexandracooper and @kapital_entertainment. Let's do this!!!!! 🚀🚀🚀."

"It's a completely different muscle," she said. "It's incredibly fulfilling. I love producing."

"In between jobs, waiting for things to happen, it gives you a false sense of control, I suppose," she continued. "Just because acting is a very passive role [at times], having to wait for auditions or scripts to be sent. And then all the decisions are in the hands of everyone else, right? Producing, you're picking up the phone, you're calling."
